About Us

Welcome to my Author Website. I am Vincent Sachar. I derived the term "Yborn" from Mark Twain's quote. It refers to that certain something you have always desired to do---even believing it is something you were born to do. Writing is my "Yborn." On this site, I will share a list of my published works, a hint of things to come, a schedule of book events, and more. Come along with me to the magic world of books. You know it has been said that a reader lives a thousand lives. A person who does not read lives only one.

Vincent J. Sachar is an attorney with a passion for writing fiction. He earned his Juris Doctor from St. John’s Law School in New York.
Despite much success in business, including a position as the youngest executive level Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary in his industry, Vince is now writing full-time, having left his most recent position as Managing Director of a global consulting company.

Murders at Pearl Springs  is Vince's fourth published novel and first murder/suspense/thriller featuring Detective Heather Lance as his protagonist. Vince is also the author of the Nowhere Trilogy  consisting of thriller/suspense novels, The Nowhere Man, Nowhere Out, and Nowhere On Earth. These novels are centered around a former Navy SEAL, Lt. Commander Kent Taylor. Sachar's books have sold in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and India. Vince has also published a novella, A Twisted Road, and a short story, Cajun Culture Shock.

It's a "Family Affair," as my wife, Gwen, provides the first-read of everything that I write and collaborates with me. We travel together to book events and Gwen joins me in speaking publicly to students.

Vince is an experienced public speaker. In addition to speaking at book events, high schools, colleges, universities, and book clubs, he has addressed crowds large and small (sometimes with foreign language interpreters) and has done so in very unique situations (including at a prison in Siberia).
In speaking to students, Vince combines motivational aspects encouraging students to set a strong foundation for their lives now, with a basic understanding of what is involved in writing and publishing novels. He speaks to various issues of creative writing techniques, including the elements of a good book, critical areas in fiction writing, and more. His wife, Gwen, travels with him to all book events and joins in the presentations to students, emphasizing the importance of reading and encouraging students to reach for the very best in their lives. The Sachars do not charge a fee for these presentations.
